Sake Students – The True Sake Traveling Wilburys Visit 20 Breweries in Japan
The name makes more sense if you recall the late 80’s band called The Traveling Wilburys featuring organizer Beatle George Harrison, Electric Light Orchestra leader Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. Basically, it was a group of powerhouse musicians who formed a band to make a different expression of music that was exploratory in nature and wildly popular at the time. And yes, it represents several of your favorite True Sake team members who are going on various “sake excursions” to Japan in February. Unlike the Wilburys, we won’t be traveling together, but most of the breweries are very familiar to you and we will be wearing our thinking caps for each visit to garner the best and freshest information that we can share with our True Sake family.

Obviously education is of massive importance when hand-selling sake, and the best way for us to keep on the educational tip of the spear is to visit breweries and speak specifically with the makers. This hands-on exchange of information helps to better frame the style and mechanics of a brewery and their products. When you are a purveyor of sake, even the most nuanced piece of information about something you enjoy becomes three-dimensional when you see it in action and at the source. It’s a lot of fun for us, and actually makes us infinitely better at our craft.

But sadly, you cannot come with us! Or can you?
For the month of February we want you to join us in spirit and in bottle form to explore the breweries that we will be visiting as the Traveling ‘True Sake’ Wilburys. Join the fun with a 10% “Traveling True Crew” DISCOUNT on the products from the breweries that we will be visiting including: Akabu <> Dewazakura <> Denshu <> Kamoizumi <> Masumi <> Nagurayama <> Niizawa <> Tamagawa <> Tedorigawa <> Tenko <> Tenmi <> Urakasumi
That’s a pretty slick deal, because most of you know and love these brands! Next month we will know so much more about these particular products, and so will you if you taste along during our trip at a discount.
Yay for sake! Yay for learning! Yay for a discount!
